Heights

From dust we come and to the dust we return
Like the grass of the field and like mist or vapor
We’re alive for a little while then we end up in the grave yard
Teach me to number my days and Fear your word
Not to walk carelessly but my heart to guard
Within me are conflicted Passions and desires
Daily the flesh attacks me raging within me like fire
Your Word is like a hammer that shatters rocks
Search my heart and smash the evil inside
As your word says all humanity is full of liars
Most Caring Lord Forgive me for my carelss speech
Truly your chastisement is rain to thirsty ground in spring
You afflict me in your grace and my soul sings,
In due time the fruit is seen just as in the fall harvest
My spirit yearns for you and my soul clings to the ground
My flesh flutters trying to break free of the passions to which it is bound
My soul is faint and my heart churns
But your Word steadies me and in me the Fires of your Holy Spirit burns
Living waters spring from within and in you I’m free
Your Word breaks my heart and restores it
Ever morning my mind is renewed in your tender grace
killing sin daily as I walk the path towards Jerusalem’s Glorious Palacial Courts in the North
Singing Joyously as I eagerly await to see your Face
Enthroned in Zion above you are High and Exalted
Looking down on the Heavens as all of heaven exults and the earth sings your praise
Your Majesty shining brighter than the sun
As all of Heaven worships the Lamb, your Son
The Glory and image of God
Yah is salvation, Truly the Lamb reigns as Lord
Lofty and High the King reigns above all nations and kingdoms
The Grand Chief of Israel’s Twelve Tribes
His Love our abode and Home
Adored by angels and praised by men
His Word unfading, His presence emancipating
His Truth cleansing
Its your Spirit that leads us in the ways everlasting
My Strength and my Refuge,
My Counselor and Helper who’s counsel I dare not refuse
The Messiah our horn of Salvation
The Lamb given for our propitiation
The First and the Last who lives Forever
Most Blessed Treasure who’s everlasting goodness we gladly savour
Truly your mercy and Love endures forever
From this day forth I make fully delighting in you my daily endevour
Take me from height to Height as I soar in your Love
Take me to the depths of humility as I search the plains of your Love
Break my soul and make me whole
Most Holy Lord, Let your Marvellous Light shine on all your people!!
